After a full room makeover in 2018, our modern and bright DORMITORY rooms create a welcoming atmosphere. You can opt for our snug 6-bed dormitory rooms with En-suite, or go for one of the larger dorms with shared bathrooms. Either way, you’re in for a treat!
Just a heads up: the rooms at West End Hostel are only accessible by stairs since there’s no lift. But hey, think of it as a little workout! You’ll love the original high ceilings and charming bay windows as you make your way to your room.
Buses come around every 10 minutes, making it super easy to head to the city center. And if you’re arriving by train, Edinburgh Haymarket Rail Station is just a 5-minute walk away.
For those driving, public parking is available at the nearby NCP Car Park, which is about a 20-minute walk from the hotel.
If you are traveling with a group of 8 or more, please note a £20 damage deposit per person in cash is required upon arrival. Don't worry—this will be refunded during check-out, as long as everything stays intact and there are no disturbances according to hostel guidelines.

Children are welcome when adults are booking a private room only. Children under 18 are not permitted in the dormitory rooms. Children trying to stay in the dormitory rooms will be refused entry.
All guests checking into the hostel must have photographic ID with them in the form of passport or driving licence. Unfortunately check-in will not be permitted unless photo ID is provided.
There is no lift access in the hostel and all rooms are accessible by stairs only, over 3 floors.
Small lockers for valuables are available with access from 08:00 until 23:00.
Males who book the female-only dormitory room will not be permitted to stay and a refund will not be issued.
Any guests arriving after 23:00 Sunday to Thursday and after 00:00 Friday and Saturday will be required to pay a GBP 5 late arrival fee to the member of night staff.
